Scope: Treatment of all matters pertaining to the mechanical, electrical, thermal and environmental aspects of overhead transmission and distribution conductors, shieldwires and accessories. As the following
relate to conductors, shieldwires and accessories;
- to encourage, and to provide a forum for, the exchange of information and experiences among utilities, suppliers, consultants and academic institutions;
- to create and maintain, IEEE standards, papers and other documents as appropriate;
- to provide a forum for introduction of new technologies;
- to provide a forum for individuals to network with others who have common interests;
- to provide liaison with other industry groups with similar interests;
- to keep abreast of new or emerging areas and issues and to take action, if required

Scope: Investigate, evaluate and report on methods, equipment and tools that have been found practical for assembly and erection of structures, installation of foundations, grounding, and stringing of overhead transmission line conductors and overhead ground wires. To coordinate, review and develop papers, guides, standards and related efforts directed toward more efficient, safer and higher quality construction of overhead transmission
lines.
